Pioneering Korean dance and hip-hop duo DEUX is moving closer to its first full-length studio album in 31 years, with preorders opening for a limited-edition vinyl release featuring the AI-restored voice of late member Kim Sung-jae.

According to November 1 reporting by Newsis, the upcoming fourth studio album is being overseen by surviving member Lee Hyun-do, bringing the duo’s musical partnership into a new era through artificial intelligence.

The record will mark DEUX’s first studio album since Force Deux in 1995.

The upcoming release, titled DEUX 4TH VINYL ALBUM, is being offered as a limited-edition 12-inch LP in black and red versions. Both feature gatefold packaging, an inner sleeve and a lyric sheet, with production quantities determined by preorders.

A special dfn × DEUX 4th Album Pre-Listening Party is also scheduled for November 7 at Bolero Club in Seoul’s Itaewon district. Attendees will have an opportunity to hear music from the forthcoming album ahead of its general release, while fellow Korean hip-hop act Dynamic Duo is scheduled to deliver a congratulatory performance.

The fourth-album project has been in development for several years. Lee Hyun-do previously discussed plans to use AI technology to reconstruct Kim Sung-jae’s voice, with the duo releasing “Rise” in November 2025 as an early part of the project. Another project single, “또 하루,” followed in April 2026.

The use of Kim’s reconstructed vocals has been a defining element of the reunion project. Following “Rise,” Lee Hyun-do also outlined arrangements to share part of his neighboring-rights distributions from that recording with Kim’s surviving family.

The specific permissions and royalty arrangements for every track on the forthcoming album have not been independently established.

DEUX debuted in 1993 and became influential figures in Korean popular music through their fusion of hip-hop, new jack swing, dance and street fashion. Songs including “Look Back at Me” and “In Summer” remain closely associated with the early development of the sound and performance styles that helped shape modern K-pop.

The new album represents both a continuation of that legacy and an unusual example of how AI-assisted vocal restoration is being incorporated into contemporary music production.

An exact general release date and final tracklist have not yet been independently confirmed. The newly announced milestone is the opening of limited vinyl preorders and the upcoming listening event, rather than the album’s completed release.
