South Korean singer-songwriter Ha Hyun-sang will begin his mandatory military service on November 30, his representatives confirmed on October 14.
Ha will first enter an Army training centre to complete basic military training before continuing his service in the Army Band.
The announcement follows a handwritten letter Ha shared through his official fan café earlier that day, informing fans that he would be enlisting at the end of November.
Reflecting on the upcoming transition, Ha described 2026 as an eventful year both personally and professionally. He said he views military service as a necessary period in his life and intends to use the experience to prepare for the next chapter of his career.
He also reassured fans that he was doing well and expressed appreciation for their continued encouragement.
Before entering service, Ha plans to continue meeting fans through performances. His solo concert Funny Family is scheduled for October 24 and 25 at Kyung Hee University’s Grand Peace Palace in Seoul.
Ha made his musical debut in 2018 with the single “Dawn” and gained wider recognition as a vocalist of Hoppipolla, the winning band from JTBC’s SuperBand in 2019. He has since maintained an active solo career through music releases and live performances.
