Irene & Seulgi Set Japanese Debut With ‘Cheetah’

Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi are making their Japanese debut with their first original Japanese mini album, Cheetah.

All five tracks will be released digitally on September 14, ahead of the physical album’s November 4 release in Japan. The project is led by the title track “Cheetah” and is being positioned as the unit’s first Japanese-market recording project.

According to the official Red Velvet Japan site, the mini album is designed to showcase the duo’s polished musical identity and range of expression. Current reporting says the five-track release spans brighter pop energy, more mature R&B textures and more delicate emotional material.

The rollout will also connect directly to Irene & Seulgi’s upcoming JAPAN TOUR 2026 -blank-.

The tour begins September 19 in Fukuoka before continuing through Hyogo, Osaka, Miyagi, Hiroshima, Aichi and Kanagawa. Eight performances are currently scheduled across the seven cities, with the run concluding November 5 at Pacifico Yokohama.

The Japanese debut expands a unit discography that began with Monster in 2020 and most recently continued with their 2025 mini album TILT.
