IU is returning with new music.
EDAM Entertainment revealed a surprise teaser for a new IU digital single through her official social channels, confirming a September 10 release at 6 p.m. KST.
The announcement arrives with few details about the song itself. Its title and genre have not yet been revealed, leaving the initial teaser to establish the first clues around the upcoming release.
The video takes the form of a retro computer interface, eventually displaying a symbol built around a crescent moon, an orbit and a glowing sphere. It concludes with the message “Destination: UNKNOWN PLANET.”
There may have been an earlier hint hiding in plain sight. Music heard in the teaser previously appeared briefly in a video uploaded to IU’s official YouTube channel in late August, prompting speculation at the time that the unidentified audio could be connected to new music.
The single will arrive exactly one year after “Bye, Summer,” which IU released on September 10, 2025. It will be her first new song since that release.
IU’s new single is separate from her upcoming sixth studio album, which was postponed earlier this year alongside planned concert activities.
For now, the September release remains deliberately mysterious, with additional details expected as IU’s new campaign unfolds.
