Jun Opens a New Solo Chapter With First Chinese EP ‘9’

SEVENTEEN’s Jun has released his first Chinese EP, returning to solo music after more than three years with a project built around the symbolism of the number nine.

Reported against primary sources.

SEVENTEEN’s Jun has released 9, his first Chinese EP and his first solo music release in more than three years.

The EP arrived September 28 through PLEDIS Entertainment, marking Jun’s first solo release since the Chinese digital single “PSYCHO” in July 2023. It is also his first Chinese EP since debut.

9 draws its concept from the Chinese folk legend of the nine-lived cat spirit, which gains nine tails through cultivation before ultimately reaching immortality. The idea becomes the foundation for a project centered on different emotional states and versions of Jun.

Jun also contributed directly to the project’s music, including participating in the songwriting for “Glamorous” and “Dream.”

The release follows a period in which Jun has expanded his individual activities in China alongside his work with SEVENTEEN, including acting projects and appearances.

With 9, that solo chapter now extends back into music, giving Jun his first full EP-length project built specifically around his Chinese solo career.
