Kakao Entertainment is connecting Melon and Berriz as it moves toward a more integrated ecosystem for K-pop fans.
The company announced September 29 that account linking between its Melon music platform and Berriz fan platform is beginning, allowing activity that previously lived across separate services to move between them.
One of the first changes involves listening history. Streaming and download records accumulated through Melon can now be reflected automatically in Berriz, allowing fans to use that activity when verification is required for music-show attendance or fan-event applications instead of providing separate printed records.
The connection also extends to ticketing. Official fan-club verification registered through Berriz can be linked with Melon Ticket, reducing the need for fans to repeat the verification process when accessing fan-club concert presales.
Kakao plans to expand the integration further, including easier access to official artist schedules, news and merchandise information through the connected services.
Taken together, the changes connect several parts of K-pop fandom that have traditionally required fans to move between separate platforms and verification systems: listening to music, documenting fan activity, joining official communities, buying merchandise and accessing concert tickets.
Berriz will also play a larger role in Kakao’s own events. Official voting for the new Global TOP10 category at the 2026 Melon Music Awards, scheduled for November 14 and 15 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, will take place through the platform.
Kakao Entertainment described the Melon-Berriz integration as the starting point for connecting the different ways fans experience K-pop.
The significance, then, is less about another linked account and more about the infrastructure behind it. By connecting Melon’s established music and ticketing services with Berriz’s community and fan-club functions, Kakao is bringing more of the fan journey under a connected platform ecosystem.
