Ko Ji-yong to Reunite With SECHSKIES Members for December Dinner Shows

Three members of first-generation K-pop group SECHSKIES are preparing to share the stage again, with Ko Ji-yong joining Lee Jae-jin and Jang Su-won for a special two-night event in December.

Concert organizer Mountain Movement Story announced on October 30 that the three artists will appear in THE TREE in INSPIRE — 젝키의 못다 한 이야기, scheduled for December 15 and 16 at INSPIRE Arena in Incheon. Both performances will begin at 6 p.m. KST.

The event will take a different approach from a conventional concert. Billed as a special dinner show, it will combine music and conversation with dining and hospitality experiences at INSPIRE Resort.

Rather than simply revisiting the group’s familiar performances, the organizers intend to create a setting in which the three artists can share memories and stories that have remained untold.

Ko Ji-yong’s participation makes the reunion particularly significant.

Following SECHSKIES’ disbandment in 2000, Ko largely withdrew from entertainment to pursue a business career. When the group reunited through MBC’s Infinite Challenge in 2016, he made a surprise appearance during the program’s reunion concert but did not participate in the group’s subsequent promotional activities.

SECHSKIES resumed activities as five members before Kang Sung-hoon’s departure in 2019 left four members in the active lineup.

The December shows will mark the first official event bringing Ko, Lee and Jang together as a trio.

The timing adds another dimension to the announcement. SECHSKIES debuted in 1997 and will celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2027, three decades after helping shape the first generation of K-pop alongside contemporaries such as H.O.T.

Although the event arrives ahead of that milestone, it is not a full-group reunion. Only Ko, Lee and Jang have been announced for the December performances, and no new group release or comprehensive reunion tour has been confirmed.

For fans who followed SECHSKIES through their original success, disbandment and eventual return, the upcoming shows offer a rare opportunity to see Ko reconnect with former bandmates in an official performance setting.
