Lee Moo-jin’s legal dispute with Big Planet Made Entertainment is moving into court mediation.
The Seoul Central District Court has referred Lee’s lawsuit seeking confirmation that his exclusive contract with the agency is no longer valid to mediation, opening a potential path toward resolving the dispute without a full judgment.
Lee filed the lawsuit earlier this year alongside a claim seeking approximately ₩2.1 billion in unpaid settlement money. The dispute centers on payments Lee says he was owed under his exclusive agreement with Big Planet Made.
The latest development follows an earlier court decision granting Lee an injunction that temporarily suspended the validity of his exclusive contract while the underlying case proceeds.
Mediation does not itself resolve the dispute. Instead, the process gives Lee and Big Planet Made an opportunity to reach a court-facilitated agreement. If the two sides fail to settle, the lawsuit can continue through the court.
The case comes amid a wider period of contract and settlement disputes involving artists connected to Big Planet Made and its parent company, ONE HUNDRED. VIVIZ and members of THE BOYZ have also entered disputes involving their respective contracts or payments.
