Nana’s agency has disclosed a further legal development in the home-invasion case involving the singer and actress and her mother.
In an official statement issued October 21, Sublime confirmed that the defendant, who previously received a seven-year prison sentence at first instance for robbery causing injury, has also been indicted on a separate charge of false accusation.
The disclosure follows a series of legal proceedings stemming from the November 2025 incident.
A Separate Indictment Following Nana’s Complaint
The original incident occurred when a man entered Nana’s home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, armed with a weapon and demanded money.
Nana and her mother subdued him during the confrontation, sustaining injuries in the process.
The defendant subsequently filed a criminal complaint against Nana over injuries he sustained during the confrontation. Police determined that her actions constituted self-defense and decided not to refer the allegations against her for prosecution.
Nana then filed a complaint accusing the man of making a false criminal accusation.
According to Sublime’s October 21 statement, investigators examined evidence and witness accounts before prosecutors proceeded with a separate false-accusation indictment. Korean reporting indicates that the indictment took place in September and was publicly confirmed by the agency on October 21.
The defendant is awaiting trial on that separate charge. An indictment does not constitute a conviction.
Original Robbery Case Remains Under Appeal
The defendant previously received a seven-year prison sentence at first instance for the home-invasion robbery.
He appealed the ruling. The appellate court is scheduled to deliver its judgment on October 22.
In its latest statement, Sublime also accused the defendant of continuing to circulate claims that contradict the findings presented in the original proceedings, including through correspondence sent to media organizations.
The agency expressed concern about the continued impact on Nana and her mother, including possible retaliation, and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the artist and her family.
The robbery appeal and the separate false-accusation prosecution remain distinct legal matters. Neither the scheduled appellate judgment nor a verdict in the separate prosecution had been announced as of this filing.
