Former fromis_9 member Noh Jisun has opened up about the financial uncertainty she faced after her time as an idol ended and the process of building a new career outside the group.
During an October 11 appearance on the YouTube channel Min Saerom’s Open Studio, Jisun said she began looking for loans when she needed money for living expenses after group activities ended.
According to Jisun, conventional bank and mobile loans were difficult to obtain because she was recorded without recognized employment or income. She eventually took out a ₩3 million card loan, initially believing the money could cover several months of living expenses.
Jisun said the debt later grew as she repeatedly borrowed again to repay earlier balances. She also received help from her brother while working to clear what she owed.
She emphasized that the debt is no longer outstanding. Jisun said she had fully repaid both the card loan and money borrowed from her brother roughly a year after leaving the group.
The interview also focused on her transition into a different kind of career. Jisun said she began building a portfolio through social media and beauty-related work, choosing to show a different side of herself rather than relying entirely on the public image she had established as an idol.
She also described taking greater control over her work by handling areas including planning, outreach and scheduling herself.
Jisun’s comments offer a firsthand look at the practical uncertainty that can accompany the transition out of idol activities, while remaining specific to her own circumstances and experience.
