K-pop groups RESCENE, AND2BLE, CLOSE YOUR EYES and VERIVERY are participating in a three-part Korean-language education series produced through a collaboration between the King Sejong Institute Foundation and SBS.
The foundation announced further details on October 30 about the YouTube project, which uses entertainment and idol participation to introduce international audiences to Korean-language learning and cultural exchange.
The series, part of SBS’s 순간뽀짝 세상에 이런 아이돌이, began on October 17 with RESCENE members Minami and May taking the Sejong Korean Language Assessment (SKA) speaking test. Both members received evaluations of their Korean-language proficiency.
According to the foundation, the opening episode surpassed one million views within seven days of its release.
The second installment, scheduled for October 31 at 2 p.m. KST, will feature AND2BLE’s Ricky and CLOSE YOUR EYES member Ma Jingxiang competing in a Korean-language challenge against eight international learners.
The eight participants are finalists and award recipients from the 2026 King Sejong Institute Korean Speaking and Writing Competition, which attracted 3,715 entrants from 178 institutes across 75 countries.
Ricky and Ma Jingxiang previously competed together on a Korean audition program in 2023. Their appearance reunites them in a different setting, this time testing their language skills alongside students who have spent years studying Korean.
The third installment, scheduled for November, will follow five VERIVERY members visiting a King Sejong Institute in Jakarta, Indonesia.
During their visit, the members took on the role of guest Korean-language instructors, using lyrics from songs they had written to explain Korean expressions and introduce phrases applicable to everyday conversation.
The collaboration highlights a growing connection between K-pop fandom and Korean-language education, placing artists alongside the international learners whose interest in Korean culture often extends beyond music.
Episodes are being distributed through the King Sejong Institute Foundation’s official YouTube channel and SBS KPOP’s YouTube channel.
