Seoul Arena Opens First Bookings for 2027 Concerts

Seoul Arena is beginning to build its first concert calendar.

The venue opened its first official booking process on September 10, accepting applications from concert promoters and entertainment companies seeking dates in the second half of 2027.

Applications will remain open through September 18. Seoul Arena will review proposed schedules and content alongside applicants’ production capabilities and marketing plans before approving bookings.

Currently under construction in Seoul’s Chang-dong area, Seoul Arena is being developed specifically for popular-music performances and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027.

Its main arena can accommodate up to 28,000 attendees depending on the event configuration, while a separate medium-sized performance hall can accommodate approximately 7,000.

The spaces are designed to support events ranging from major concerts and global tours to festivals, fan meetings and showcases. The two venues can also be used together depending on the scale and format of an event.

Seoul Arena is being built with infrastructure designed around concert production, including retractable seating, audience LED systems, ceiling equipment capable of supporting lighting, audio and video installations, and access allowing freight trucks to enter the venue directly.

The first booking process marks a significant step beyond the venue’s construction phase as operators begin assembling the live-event calendar that audiences will actually see after opening.

Around 100 music-industry professionals toured the site during July and August, and Seoul Arena says 93 percent reported greater interest in considering the venue for future performances afterward.

The venue has already been selected to host FANOMENON in 2027 and says it intends to pursue major concerts and global tours as its opening approaches.

For Seoul’s concert industry, the new arena could provide another large-scale option for K-pop acts and international touring artists once it enters operation.
