SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi has suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee while serving in the South Korean military.
Hoshi disclosed the injury through Weverse on September 12, explaining that he hurt his knee while rehearsing with the Ground Forces performance team and underwent medical testing that confirmed a complete ACL tear.
He said he will undergo surgery and focus on treatment and recovery afterward.
The injury also means Hoshi will no longer participate in previously scheduled appearances with the Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team or the Ground Forces Festival. He had been preparing for the performances alongside his military duties and expressed disappointment that he would be unable to take part.
Fellow SEVENTEEN member Woozi, whom Hoshi referred to by his given name Jihoon, remains part of the Ground Forces performance team.
Hoshi enlisted for active-duty service in September 2025 and has been serving with the Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team. His current discharge date is scheduled for March 15, 2027.
No timetable for Hoshi’s post-surgery recovery has been announced.
For now, the injury represents a significant interruption to his military performance activities. Further changes to his service or recovery schedule would depend on his treatment and subsequent medical evaluation.
