Xdinary Heroes Confirm October Comeback, First Release as Five-Member Band

Xdinary Heroes are preparing to return with new music in October, opening the band’s first comeback cycle since reorganizing as a five-member group.

JYP Entertainment confirmed the comeback plans on September 7 following a report that the band had begun preparations for a new release. The agency also confirmed that Xdinary Heroes are scheduled to hold a concert in November.

The upcoming release will be the group’s first since drummer and former leader Gun-il departed Xdinary Heroes in August. JYP announced at the time that Gun-il had left the group and that his exclusive contract had been terminated by mutual agreement, with Xdinary Heroes continuing as five members: Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han and Jooyeon.

The lineup change is particularly significant for a band whose performances and recorded music have been built around a six-member instrumental arrangement. Since Gun-il’s departure, Xdinary Heroes have continued performing with a session drummer rather than immediately introducing a replacement member.

The October release will follow DEAD AND, the group’s eighth mini album, which arrived in April with “Voyager” as its title track. JYP has not yet announced the title, exact release date or tracklist for the upcoming project.

The November concert will further establish the group’s next phase following the lineup change, though additional details about the performance have not yet been announced.
