YG Sets BABYMONSTER ‘DESERVE’ and TREASURE ‘SHOCK,’ Updates Rookie-Group Plans

YG Entertainment has issued a new company-wide update covering upcoming music from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE as well as the status of its next two idol groups.

In a statement dated October 14 in South Korea, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk confirmed that BABYMONSTER’s upcoming digital single is titled “DESERVE.”

The song will be released October 23, a date YG had already announced earlier this month. Yang described “DESERVE” as a slower-paced track built around the group’s vocals and an increasingly intense emotional progression.

The more significant scheduling update concerns what comes afterward. YG now says it is aiming to release BABYMONSTER’s next album in early 2027.

Earlier in 2026, the company had outlined plans for another BABYMONSTER album during the second half of this year. The new statement therefore moves that projected release window into next year, although YG did not give a specific date or explain the change.

TREASURE is also getting another release before the end of 2026.

The group will release the digital single “SHOCK” on November 2. Yang described the track as having a powerful hip-hop sound and positioned it as part of the musical direction TREASURE began exploring with its June mini album “NEW WAV.”

YG also provided an update on the two rookie groups it has been developing.

The company says the five-member boy group and four-member girl group remain in preparation, with both expected to record multiple demo songs before the end of the year. YG says clearer debut schedules will be determined after title tracks are finalized.

That represents a notable change for the boy group in particular. In April, YG said it expected the five-member act to debut in September 2026. That month has now passed without a debut, and the latest statement does not provide a replacement date.

The four-member girl group had also been introduced previously as part of YG’s next generation of artists, rather than being newly revealed in this announcement.

Yang said he expects to return with another YG ANNOUNCEMENT video toward the end of the year.

Taken together, the update gives a revised picture of YG’s near-term release calendar: BABYMONSTER and TREASURE have new digital singles confirmed, while larger album and rookie-debut plans remain further out.
