A2O LITE Tops Melon TOP100 in 29 Hours With Debut Single ‘NEON’

A2O LITE has reached No. 1 on Melon’s TOP100 chart with its debut single NEON, achieving the milestone just 29 hours after the song’s release.

The nine-member group’s debut track, released October 13 at 6 p.m. KST, climbed to the top of the chart at 11 p.m. KST on October 14.

According to Korean reporting, the achievement marks the fastest rise to No. 1 for a rookie group’s debut song since Melon introduced its revised TOP100 chart in August 2021.

The previous benchmark was held by ALLDAY PROJECT, whose debut single FAMOUS reached the summit approximately three days after its June 2025 release.

NEON entered the TOP100 at No. 77 at 10 p.m. on release day. By 9 a.m. the following morning, it had climbed to No. 10 before continuing its ascent and reaching No. 1 late on October 14.

The distinction is specific to Melon’s current TOP100 system, which combines recent 24-hour and one-hour listening data. It should not be confused with an all-time record across the platform’s earlier chart formats.

The No. 1 position was also a recorded peak rather than an uninterrupted hold. Yonhap reported that NEON had fallen to sixth place the following morning, with Soyeon’s I’m Gonna Toesa returning to No. 1 by 10 a.m. KST on October 15.

A2O LITE debuted alongside boy group A2O SOUL under A2O Entertainment, the company founded by former SM Entertainment executive Lee Soo-man. Both groups were introduced at a joint showcase in Goyang on October 12.

The debut single was produced by Yoo Young-jin, Lee’s longtime collaborator whose previous credits include work with several generations of SM Entertainment artists.

The achievement gives A2O LITE an early domestic chart milestone immediately following its launch, while establishing a new benchmark for debut-song performance under Melon’s current TOP100 format.
