ENHYPEN is taking its concert experience deeper into virtual reality with ENHYPEN VR CONCERT: DESTINY, an interactive production beginning a global theatrical rollout this month.
The group’s second VR concert opened in Seoul on September 18, with screenings at Lotte Cinema World Tower and Hongdae scheduled through early November. International screenings are following across Asia, North America and Europe, with the full rollout spanning 42 cities worldwide.
Rather than presenting a conventional concert film, DESTINY builds its performances into ENHYPEN’s established vampire narrative. Viewers are placed inside a story involving forbidden love, escape and recurring fate, with the experience positioning the audience as an active participant alongside the members.
The production also introduces an interactive element that allows viewers to select a member as their “destined person,” altering portions of the experience around that choice. Nine performances are incorporated into the larger cinematic storyline.
The 42-city rollout is being described as the largest number of cities yet for a VR concert, extending a format ENHYPEN first explored with its previous VR project into a significantly broader international release.
North American screenings begin in Chicago on October 2 before moving through New York, Washington, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles. Additional screenings are planned across markets including Japan, Thailand, Singapore, China and several European countries.
Japan alone will host the production across seven cities beginning October 2, while Seoul screenings continue through November 8. Further international dates are being announced sequentially as the rollout progresses.
The expanded release gives DESTINY a different footprint from a typical K-pop concert film. Instead of simply transferring a stage performance into theaters, the project combines ENHYPEN’s fictional universe, member-specific audience interaction and VR performance technology into a format designed specifically for theatrical headsets.
For ENHYPEN, that makes DESTINY both a continuation of the group’s vampire mythology and a considerably larger experiment in how a K-pop concert can be distributed beyond a physical tour.
