Fin.K.L is preparing to return as a full group, more than two decades after the first-generation K-pop act last carried out formal group activities.
Gemstone E&M announced September 21 that Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin and Sung Yu-ri have reunited under the Fin.K.L name and are preparing new activities together. The company will oversee planning and operations in cooperation with the four members and their respective representatives.
The return marks Fin.K.L’s first formal full-group activity since the 2005 digital single “Forever Fin.K.L.”
All four members previously reunited in 2019 through JTBC’s reality program “Camping Club,” where they also released new music. That project, however, was structured around the television program rather than a broader restart of the group.
This time, Gemstone E&M is describing the reunion as the beginning of sustained Fin.K.L activities rather than a one-off project. The company says additional activities will be revealed in stages.
Fin.K.L debuted in 1998 with “Blue Rain” and became one of the defining girl groups of K-pop’s first generation, building a catalog that includes “To My Boyfriend,” “Eternal Love” and “Now.”
The members subsequently established separate careers across music, musical theater, acting and television. Their return brings the original four-member lineup back together under the Fin.K.L name with plans extending beyond a commemorative reunion.
Specific music, performance or release plans have not yet been announced.
