BIGBANG Returns to New York Area for First Concert in 11 Years

BIGBANG has returned to the New York area for the first time in more than a decade.

G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung brought the group’s 20th-anniversary XX : COSMOS world tour to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on September 11, marking BIGBANG’s first concert in the tri-state area since two shows at Newark’s Prudential Center in October 2015.

The MetLife performance was also the tour’s only East Coast stop.

Across roughly three hours, BIGBANG performed a 30-song set spanning the group’s catalog alongside individual stages from each member. Songs including “Fantastic Baby,” “Loser,” “Haru Haru,” “Lies” and “Bang Bang Bang” appeared alongside newer material, including the group’s 20th-anniversary single “BiiiG.”

The stadium production itself was built at a scale matching the anniversary run. YG Entertainment said the MetLife show incorporated a 23-ton mobile LED structure, with stage design by Es Devlin and creative direction from Mike Carson.

XX : COSMOS is BIGBANG’s first group world tour since 2017 and its first as the current trio of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung.

The tour began with three shows at Goyang Stadium in August before moving to North America, including an Oakland date ahead of MetLife.

BIGBANG will now take the anniversary tour to Europe, with stadium concerts scheduled at Stade de France in Paris on September 19 and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on September 26. The wider tour continues through Asia and Oceania into 2027.

For a group whose international touring history helped establish the scale K-pop acts could reach overseas, the 11-year gap makes the MetLife stop more than another date on the itinerary. It marks BIGBANG’s return to one of North America’s largest markets at stadium scale, two decades into the group’s career.
