ENHYPEN met World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in Seoul on October 22 to review the impact of the group’s blood-donation initiatives, with WHO publishing details of the meeting and its global campaign results on October 23.

Held at HYBE’s headquarters, the meeting brought together ENHYPEN, BELIFT LAB President Kim Tae-ho, representatives of South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Korean Red Cross officials.

The discussion highlighted the results of two related initiatives: ENHYPEN’s earlier blood-donation campaign with the Korean Red Cross and its subsequent collaboration with WHO.

Thousands participate in blood-donation initiatives

ENHYPEN’s Korean Red Cross campaign began in January alongside the release of their EP THE SIN : VANISH.

According to figures reported by The Korea Times, the January 16–25 initiative recorded 7,730 blood donors, including 1,031 first-time donors.

The campaign later expanded to Japan and Singapore, drawing approximately 10,000 participants across the three countries.

In June, ENHYPEN also partnered with WHO for World Blood Donor Day, using videos and digital content to encourage voluntary blood donation among their global audience.

WHO’s October 23 statement confirmed that its separate Drop Your Drop global campaign had received more than 9,000 pledges from 177 countries, with over 3,250 participants identifying themselves as ENGENE.

Importantly, these worldwide figures represent pledges to donate, not 9,000 independently verified completed blood donations. They are separate from the Korean Red Cross’s reported donor total.

WHO recognizes ENHYPEN and ENGENE

During the meeting, Tedros praised the group’s contribution to public awareness of blood donation and acknowledged the involvement of its international fan community.

WHO also highlighted ENHYPEN’s personal participation. All members underwent donor eligibility screening during a visit to a Korean Red Cross donation centre, while Jay and Jungwon donated plasma.

The group’s WHO collaboration has extended its original Korean campaign into an international public-health initiative, encouraging younger audiences to engage with the need for regular, voluntary blood donation.

WHO said the Seoul meeting also provided an opportunity to explore further efforts promoting blood donation and other health issues among young people.

No additional campaign or future partnership schedule was formally announced.
