Stray Kids are heading into one of the biggest weekends of their touring career.
The group will perform at Tokyo’s MUFG Stadium, also known as the National Stadium, on August 29 and 30 as part of the “Stray Kids World Tour .” According to JYP Entertainment and the group’s official Japanese release materials, the concerts will make Stray Kids the first foreign male artist to stage a solo show at the venue.
Both Tokyo dates are sold out. They also mark the first overseas stop of the new “RUN IT” world tour, which opened with five sold-out concerts at Seoul’s KSPO Dome in July.
After Tokyo, Stray Kids will take the Japanese leg to Vantelin Dome Nagoya on September 5 and 6, Kyocera Dome Osaka on September 19 and 20, and Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka on October 24. All seven Japanese dates are currently listed as sold out, with JYP projecting a combined audience of approximately 370,000 across the run.
The scale of the tour is extending beyond the venues themselves. Stray Kids also launched “SKZ AREA CONNECT,” a concert-linked project built around the four Japanese tour cities. The campaign includes regional collaborations and activities ranging from Tokyo Station programming to a JR Central partnership and other location-specific activations.
The National Stadium milestone arrives during another record-heavy stretch for Stray Kids. Their latest mini album, “THIS & THAT,” recently gave the group its ninth No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending their record for the most chart-topping albums by a group this century.
For Stray Kids, however, this weekend’s milestone is measured in a different market and on a different stage. When the first Tokyo show begins Saturday, the group will add a National Stadium first to a Japanese tour already built entirely around stadium and dome-sized venues.
